Investors Show Interest in Wind Power Plants in Albania

Companies are increasing interest in wind energy investments in Albania, as another company has recently filed an application in the Ministry of Infrastructure and Energy. The request was made by "Natural Energy System", while it envisages the construction of a wind farm with an installed capacity of 3MW, in the Seman area, in Fier. Currently, there is no wind power plants in Albania, while the need to diversify energy sources is great, due to dependence on hydric conditions.

In fact, the Energy Regulatory Authority (ERA) has licensed several companies to carry out this activity, but the construction on the ground has not yet begun. ERA also undertook a field monitoring process for this issue, but the situation created by COVID-19 postponed it for a second moment, which means that we still do not have a clear situation of what is happening with the delays in the construction of these wind plants.
