91 COVID-19 victims in Albania in the last 30 days

 
 In Albania, the situation of the spread and consequences of COVID 19 continues to deteriorate. In the last 30 days, 91 victims of COVID 19 have been recorded, or 63 percent of the total number of people who have lost their lives since the beginning of the epidemic on March 9.

Even in the last 24 hours, they recorded a high number of deaths again. The Ministry of Health announced that a 49-year-old from Shkodra, a 54-year-old from Mirdita, a 58-year-old from Tirana, lost their lives while they had no other diseases. Three other citizens, who also passed away (a 56-year-old, a 68-year-old and a 76-year-old, from Tirana) had a concomitant illness. Last week there were 31 victims from COVID 19, while the previous week there were only 18 people who lost their lives.

In fact last week marked an increase in cases, with an average of 101 infected per day. In the last 24 hours alone, there have been 117 affected, of which 63 cases in Tirana, while the other cases are spread in 23 different cities of the country. In total, the number of affected has reached 4880 people. Currently, 1991 are active, where more than half, 1082 are located in the capital

"There has been a significant increase in hospitalizations in both Covid hospitals. The situation is serious as the number of patients in intensive care and intubated patients has also been increased", declared Rovena Daja of the Institute of Public Health. According to the data of this afternoon, 114 patients were hospitalized in the two hospitals of the capital. While 19 of the patients are in intensive care and 3 are intubated.
