 Through a message on "Facebook", the US Embassy emphasizes that this amount will go to the establishment of the American-Albanian Academy of Transparency. According to America, it will increase the transparency and integrity of the government and public and private institutions, as well as support justice reform.

"The U.S. is pleased to announce an additional $5.5 million in developmental assistance to Albania for the purpose of establishing the U.S.-Albanian Transparency Academy (USATA). USATA will increase the transparency and integrity of government, public and private institutions, and support justice reform. It will also help the Government of Albania manage donations received for earthquake recovery and other public funds in a transparent and accountable fashion that benefits those most in need. This donation is part of the larger U.S. contribution of over $700 million to Albania in the past 20 years. - with USAID/Albania" .
