Thaci and Grenell were trying a dirty deal according to Der Standard

 The well-known Austrian newspaper, Der Standard, writes in an analysis that the President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaçi, has been trying to make a dirty agreement.

Journalist Adelheid Woelfl writes that Thaçi's resignation is normally expected now.

"It's interesting that speculation has been circulating in Kosovo and in diplomatic circles in recent days about allegations against Thaci that the president is willing to enter into a 'dirty deal' with Trump envoy Richard Grenell, who works for Serbia and Kosovo, only to avoid charges before the court. Due to the history of the war, Thaçi has been blackmailed for many years. Grenell, on the other hand, is inclined to reach an agreement between Serbia and Kosovo - much to the displeasure of the EU, which has slowed down - to show that Trump is a 'dealmaker' and thus win the post of Secretary of State for the second term”.

"Thaci has repeatedly called for a change of borders before leaving for Washington. The so-called territorial exchanges, which Thaci and Vucic agreed on a few years ago, where Serb-populated municipalities in northern Kosovo will belong to Serbia, and Albanian-populated municipalities in Serbia will go to Kosovo, are at odds with the Constitution of Kosovo and international law”.
