 The Albanologist Agron Fico, a well-known scholar of the traditions and genesis of the Albanian people, dies at the age of 86.

Fico co-founded the Albanian language department in Beijing and half a century later the Albanian language department in Boston.

The researcher of Gjirokastra origin has been honored with the "Republic Award" and the highest university gratitude of China for academic achievement.

In recent decades, he has been vice president of the Albanian-American Academy of Sciences and Arts.
