Historian Pascal Milo has clarified the truth of his statements regarding the origin of Skanderbeg's mother, which was put at the center of the discussion in recent days. Invited by the jounralist Mustafa Nano at his show 'Provokacija' at ABC News Albania he said that Albanian society is still at a low cultural level, which continues to remain "slaves" of some old formulations.

"The distortion is because they have detached phrases from a debate of almost 2 years ago to create the impression they wanted. I am sorry why we Albanians still have a low level of culture, to fall victim to some people who do not know how to do anything else but only to slander.

I don't frequent social networks. To my surprise, I found a colossal, deliberate manipulation. I do not know for what reason. I don't believe that it is addressing me personally, despite the fact that it is related to my name, but I have not given any reason to have such an opponent or such a slanderer", said Milo.

During the conversation in the studio, he emphasized that he believes that it is for other accounts of the geopolitical character that according to him are implemented in Albania by local paid actors.

"Why do they slander that I said that Skanderbeg is of Serbian origin. Neither you have said it, nor have I said it, nor do I intend to say it. So I suggest they read what I wrote in 2018. One has to read before criticizing. No one has said that Skanderbeg is a Serb. But that there is a thesis that is based on documents and books by Albanian authors, from Barleti, Gjon Muzaka, that Skanderbeg's mother was of Slavic origin, is not a sin to say this. This is the truth.

In the Middle Ages, weddings between kingdoms or princes were the most normal thing. There is a document dating back to 1426 that Gjon Kastrioti together with his sons donates two villages to the monastery of Hilandar, as a property of the Monastery. It is a written document, but those who accuse us do not know these things and prefer to fall victim to slander than to ask about the truth", he said.
