Head of Dutch Police Laurent Hendrix Laurent Hendrix visits Albanian Police

 
 Chief of Albanian State Police Ardi Veliu received in a meeting the Commander of the Royal Dutch Gendarmerie, General Laurent Hendrix.

Veliu and Hendrix praised the good relations between the Albania State Police and the Gendarmerie and the Dutch Police.

The meeting reaffirmed the joint willingness to cooperate against organized crime, human trafficking and the fight against drug trafficking.

It was agreed that future co-operation would be materialized through joint investigations, real-time exchange of information, because only in this way can the success be achieved.

The head of the Royal Dutch Gendarmerie congratulated Director Veliu on the achievements of the State Police, thanking him for the work done to prevent and reduce the number of Albanian asylum seekers in the Netherlands.

Director Veliu assured General Hendrix that the State Police strengthened the measures, both at the border crossing points while interviewing citizens about the reasons for moving into the SCHENGEN area, as well as the measures at the green border.

Veliu emphasized also that the State Police is now more professional, reliable for partners and this is confirmed by joint, almost weekly operations in the fight against individuals and criminal groups operating in the field of narcotics, human trafficking, cross-border crimes, and document forgery.

At the close of the meeting, Veliu and Hendrix reaffirmed their readiness to cooperate, as the goal is the same for both parties.
