Any cure or vaccine advancement will fail if coronavirus mutates, Albanian doctor in US says

In a live connection with Euronews Albania, the Albanian epidemiologist in Florida, Erta Cenko said that in conditions when the disease has still unknown elements and no cure, the only thing we have at hand is to break the chain of transmission, is the isolation and the physical distance that according to her should be 1.5 meters.

Citing the example of Italy, the country where the death toll is much higher than the US, which has the highest number of people affected, she brought to attention a study that linked this to three factors: The fact that Italy is in the country second in the world to the longest-lived population, the lifestyle in Italy, where unlike the US young people have close relationships with older people and often meet with them, and third the fact that measures were not taken in a timely manner and the situation it was not taken seriously at first.

The Albanian doctor emphasized the fact that there is scientific research on the vaccine against the virus, but there are still many questions.

"If the virus is mutated, any cure or vaccine advancement will fail. The only way to break the chain is to isolate. Keeping distance is also very important. Distance and isolation are the right ways to protect yourself. I read news about the use of some vitamins, that's not true. Some of this news may be damaging. They can boost immunity, but that doesn't mean we don't get infected,” the doctor explained.
