The 18 candidates running for Albanian National Bureau of Investigation to undergo the lie detector test

US Ambassador Yuri Kim announced today that all the staff of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), including candidates for leadership of this sector, will undergo a polygraph test, or a lie detector test.

“We are here to inaugurate the US polygraph unit. This unit will start monitoring and controlling candidates who run for the NBI. This is an important moment in the life of Albania too, with the new law of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime (SSACOC) requiring all NBI employees to undergo polygraph examination prior to employment,” Kim said during the first five-polygraph certification ceremony, which will be in the service of SPAK and NBI.

But who are the candidates for the BKH leadership? SSACOC leader Arben Kraja announced a day ago that out of 40 applicants, 22 have been disqualified and 18 of them are attending the race.

They are officials who have graduated in law or have higher police education.
