4 Albanians arrested in Italy, officially beekeepers but hiding cocaine

Italian police have destroyed at Massa Carrara a gang of 6 persons, four Albanians, and two Italians, accused of a structured gang transporting cocaine and heroin from Belgium to Italy.

Initially, the officers became interested in the gang from an investigation into the exploitation of prostitution, with one of the detainees involved.

The police operation, which lasted more than a year, codenamed "White Honey" because one of the group leaders had officially a beekeeping activity, with dozens of hives being searched because was suspected of actually hiding cocaine.

The considerable amount of drug packaging materials and empty hives suggest that the 4 kilos of pure cocaine and heroin found in one of the gang-owned apartments are simply remnants of a much larger quantity, already distributed in the market.
