Ramush Haradinaj to Albin Kurti: Do not make the mistake of removing the tax

In a public letter, the former Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj pleaded to the newly-elected Prime Minister Albin Kurti not to abolish the 100 percent tax on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Recalling the sacrifices of Kurti, who has been jailed, beaten and tortured by the former Serbian regime, the president of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo has urged the actual prime minister of Kosovo Albin Kurti not to back down in the face of international pressure.

“Albin, do not let the market of over 400 million euros for Serbia, the state that has beaten and tortured you, let you down. The state that buys weapons in Russia with the money of the people of Kosovo. Reconsider the decision Albin”, - wrote Mr. Haradinaj on Facebook.

Today, after meeting with EU chief Nataliya Apostolova, chief executive Albin Kurti was asked by reporters how he would handle the 100% tariff set by his predecessor, Ramush Haradinaj.

Kurti replied that he would reciprocally replace it, but did not specify whether to abolish the tariff before imposing the measure.

“First, we never put Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina in one sentence. Both for historical reasons and for current reasons. We consider that we are where we are as a new government and because of our pledge that we will have full political, economic and commercial reciprocity with Serbia as a replacement for the 100% tariff ”, said Mr. Kurti.
