Albanian Prime Edi Rama to visit Moscow on February 26, wants to meet with Putin

Prime Minister Edi Rama, acting as OSCE chairman, will visit Moscow.

The head of the government will visit Moscow on February 26.

So far sources have confirmed the meeting with Foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov. Sources say the Albanian side had requested that Rama to also meet with Vladimir Putin.

Today, Edi Rama, as the next OSCE chairman-in-office, has spoken about Ukraine and the situation in the country at the UN Security Council session. Rama said there was a worsening situation in the contact area and noted that since December there have been 69 deaths and 20,000 incidents.

Rama sought the possibility of deploying a peacekeeping mission in the area.

Avoiding the escalation of the situation in Ukraine is one of the priorities the prime minister listed while assuming the OSCE presidency in Vienna.
