 In France, a 50-year-old Albanian man has been arrested, sentenced by the Shkodra Court of Appeal to five years in prison for cultivating and trafficking cannabis. The arrested is Tom Kaçi, resident of the village of Bulshar, Mirdita.

State Police say that thanks to the constant exchange of information between Interpol Tirana and its counterparts, he has fallen into the hands of the Police and arrested in France, a wanted man for criminal activity in the field of narcotics.

“This citizen was declared wanted after the Shkodra Court of Appeal sentenced him to five years in prison for a criminal offense in the field of narcotics. The citizen Kaçi, in collaboration with another citizen, cultivated cannabis in remote mountainous areas of the Mirdita district and then transported it by vehicle to the urban areas of Mirdita. As part of the criminal proceedings registered since 2013, it was made possible to document with legal evidence the illegal activity in the field of narcotics cultivation and trafficking,” the State Police officially reports.

Further, the Police inform that as a result of Interpol Tirana's cooperation with Interpol Paris, France, his arrest was made possible in France and further extradition proceedings will continue in our country.
