Injured Alpinist rescued on Mount Tomorr 2,100 m above sea level in a hard operation, according to Minister

 Defense Minister Olta Xhaçka has announced that the Albanian Air Force has conducted a difficult operation on Mount Tomorr, where they managed to rescue an injured alpinist.


"Hard operation but our guys managed to evacuate the injured alpinist from Mount Tomorr, at an altitude of over 2100 meters and in limited viewing conditions.


Excellent cooperation of the Air Force pilots with the team of doctors of the National Medical Emergency Center”, the minister writes on Facebook, attaching some photos of the operation.

While a climber has slipped into Tomorri Mountain today at noon. The event is said to have taken place near the area known as Tariko Çerma.

The climber was part of a group of 4 climbers who had gone to explore Tomorri Mountain. Sources from the Skrapar Police Commissariat suggest that the climbers had departed in the morning from the Qafa e Dardhës (Neck of the Pear) in Librazhd towards Tomorri Mountain.

The same sources confirm that the 4 climbers had crossed the Tariko Çerma and were heading to the highest point of Tomorri Mountain when one of them slipped and broke her leg.
