As part of the 13th edition of the Albanian Culture Month, a monument dedicated to George Kastriot Skanderbeg was erected in Eunice Kennedy Park in Parma.

Skanderbeg was a leading figure in Albania's history as a leader, strategist, proud protector of the land and its people.

Skanderbeg fought fiercely for over 25 years against the advance of the Ottoman Empire seeking the spread of Muslim faith in Eastern Europe.
