The United States has donated five lie detector test devices this week to help the set up of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI).

In a Facebook post, the US Embassy states that these devices will be used by US-trained polygraphs to conduct testing for BKH applicants.

“This week, the National Bureau of Investigation took another step towards its establishment by donating five polygraph control devices from the United States government to the Interior Ministry. The equipment will be used by US-trained polygraphs who will conduct testing of applicants for the National Bureau of Investigation to help maintain the highest standards of integrity.

The Polygraphs donation and certification is part of a ten-week program funded by the State Department's Bureau of International Affairs of Law Enforcement and Drug Abuse through the International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program. The Director-General and management team of the Internal Affairs and Complaints Service - the organization that will employ the polygraph examiners - joined the ICITAP Program Leader and INL Albania Leader for the Equipment Delivery Ceremony,” reads the announcement of the embassy.
