 The great contemporary writer, also considered one of the most prominent European writers and intellectuals of the 20th century, Mr. Ismail Kadare visited the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts on Friday (September 20).

The eminent writer of Albanian literature Mr. Ismail Kadare, accompanied by his wife Mrs. Helena Kadare, the owner of Onufri Publishing House in Tirana, Bujar Hudhri and editor of Albanian books at the Podgorica Texts Publishing Entity, Dimitrov Popovic, was hosted by the president of the Montenegro Academy of Sciences and Arts (ASA), Mr. Dragan Vukcevic.

During this visit, Ismail Kadare met also and talked with members of the Academy, with the Academicians, Gjorgje Borozan, Pavle Pejovic, Zuvdija Hodzic, Jevrem Brkovic, and with Pavle Goranovic, Associate Member of ASA of Montenegro.

Meanwhile, during this meeting, the head of the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Montenegro, Mr. Dragan Vukcevic, presented Mr. Kadare with a card for his membership in the Academy of Sciences and Arts of Montenegro, selected as an external member of this academy on September 18, 2018.

Meanwhile, after the meeting the writer Ismail Kadare commented on the present media, said that he feels very happy to be among his Montenegrin colleagues, saying that he has always felt close to Montenegrin literature, whether the old or the new one.

"It's my third time coming here and I'm really excited about the fact that every time I see the country to progress," Kadare said in a brief statement to the media.
