Employees of Pristina International Airport, "Adem Jashari", protested Wednesday for the third time in a row demanding higher wages and better working conditions. The president of the independent union of airport workers, Bashkim Latifi, said they have five requests addressed to the Airport management.

“We have five requirements; the first is to pay us the risk in the workplace, the second is to have no differences in pay for employees with the same responsibilities, licenses and hours of work, the third is to pay us the work experience, the fourth is to get paid in weekend hours and the fifth is for our meal to get paid,” Mr. Latifi said.

As a result of the six-hour strike, some flights were canceled or delayed and passengers complained of long delays and queues.

But representatives at Pristina Airport denied there were any delays or cancellations, saying travelers had been informed on time about the strike and its possible impacts on the flights.

Pristina Airport is the only airport for civil flights in Kosovo and serves approximately to 1.7 million passengers annually.
