Albanian ship Oriku rescues 36 Afghans in the Aegean sea

 The Minister of Defense, Olta Xhaçka, in a post on social media reports that 36 Afghan nationals were rescued by the ship Oriku of the Albanian Navy while patrolling the Aegean Sea.

Xhaçka says eight women and nine men were rescued by the Albanian ship Oriku.

In cooperation with the European Border Agency (Frontex) the rescued people have been handed over to local authorities.

Thirty-six Afghan nationals were rescued by our Navy's "Oriku" ship while patrolling the Aegean Sea.

The Albanian crew rescued a group of 19 children, 8 women and 9 men and, in collaboration with Frontex, handed them over to local authorities.
