The Unification of Albania-Kosovo Embassies; Russia reacts: a serious problem
Foreign Ministers of Kosovo and Albania after signed the agreement
Russia expresses concern after the agreement signed a few days ago between the Albanian Foreign Minister, Gent Cakaj and his counterpart from Kosovo, Behgjet Pacolli, for opening a joint embassy.

Concerning this agreement, Russia's Foreign Ministry says that these "provocative steps by Tirana and Pristina, which are in line with the concept of Greater Albania, cause serious concern.

"The provocative steps of Tirana and Pristina, which are in line with the implementation of the concept of Great Albania, are causing serious concern...on the merger of their diplomatic missions in third countries.

We note that the provocative actions of Tirana and Pristina are not accidental. For several years now from there have been heard statements about de facto integration. This line of Albanian and Kosovar leadership contradicts UN Security Council Resolution 1244, undermines dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina with EU mediation and destroys the stability in the Balkans.

We note that the US and the EU prefer not to react to such destructive measures, which are actually covering the major Albanian manifestations that are devastating to the region," the Russian Foreign Ministry commented.
