Joint patrolling of Kosovo and Albania police officers begins

 Today begins the joint patrol of the Kosovo Police and the Albanian Police for the Summer season begins, as a memorandum of cooperation has been signed by police authorities a month ago.

Through a media announcement, the Kosovo Police announced that the first team of Kosovo Police police officers will travel to Albania today.

"The first group of police officers of the Kosovo Police, respectively the Regional Road Traffic Units and the Unit for the Control of Highways, will travel to the Republic of Albania on 01.07.2019. The informative meeting with police officers will be held at 09:30 am, at the Border Crossing Point in Vermice. A press conference will also be held at 10:00 am at the Border Crossing Point in Vërmicë. Then, along with the Albanian State Police authorities, the police officers will continue to work in the Republic of Albania for the concrete task under the memorandum of cooperation," reads the announcement of the Kosovo Police.

The joint patrol follows the signing of a memorandum of cooperation signed by two police directors, the Kosovo Police Director Rashit Qalaj and the Director of Albanian Police Ardi Veliu, for the organization of a joint road policing services in the Republic of Albania during the Summer season.
