Cakaj: Albania annuls the participation in SEECP Summit in a sign of solidarity with Kosovo

The Albanian Minister in charge of Europe and Foreign Affairs Gent Cakaj has announced that Albania will not participate in the South-East European Cooperation Process (SEECP) Summit organized by Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The acting Minister states that the treatment of Kosovo by the organizers is unacceptable.

Cakaj says the treatment against Kosovo goes against the intent to create an atmosphere of trust, good neighborly relations and stability.

He states that there can be no cooperation without equal treatment.

"We stand together," says among other things Cakaj.

A day earlier, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci had announced that he was invited to attend the SEECP Summit with an explanatory note next to Kosovo's name, unlike other states. Kosovo rejected the invitation.
