Kosovo Prime Haradinaj appoints as Foreign Adviser Rosario Petta, an Italian - Arbëresh citizen

 Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has appointed as external advisor Mr. Rosario Petta, mayor of the Piana Degli Albaneza Commune in Italy.

Haradinaj hosted the delegation of the Arbëresh on Friday evening. The prime minister said they wanted to cooperate more with the Arbëresh of Italy.

"I believe that our relationship with you is not only blood relation among Albanians, it is also the connection of Albanians to Italy. We have tied Italy more and more with the Albanians. I am convinced that the Government of Italy supports this link. We want to support and help you in preserving our tradition and language, but we want to exchange in terms of economy and culture, and the human feelings of love," he said, adding that "you are the ones who remain loyal to yourself."

While Diaspora Minister Dardan Gashi said he hopes these days organized for Arbëreshs are just the beginning and added that he believes these activities are beginning to be permanent.

While the mayor of Pristina, Shpend Ahmeti said that there are Albanians everywhere in the world.

"We are a troublesome people, we are a people of peace. Almost every third lives abroad. Everywhere in the World the Albanians are integrated. Albanians have not lost their traditions and values," he said.

While Rosario Petta said they are honored for all the respect that has been made by Kosovo institutions.

"We hope that this is the beginning of the opening of new routes between the Arbëresh of Italy and the institutions of Kosovo. The premier told us not to feel in foreign territory, we actually feel like in our family, make us feel like in our home, we feel very unified with you," he said.
