Arba Kokalari, the first Albanian Member of the European Parliament chosen in Sweden

 Arba Kokalari, who lives in Stockholm, Sweden, is the first Albanian to provide a seat in the European Parliament. The new politician is part of the moderate party, which won 17.6 per cent of the vote, receiving thus 4 MEPs, including Kokalari.

Born in Tirana, November 27, 1986, she has held the post of international secretary of the party in which she adheres, and where she has been very active. Kosovo's Foreign Minister, Behgjet Pacolli, was among the first welcomed such a development.

"Now we have good news from Sweden. It has just been confirmed that Arba Kokalari of Albanian descent has secured its place in Brussels. Historic, because it is the first Albanian MEP ever. Congratulations," he wrote on Facebook.

There were many Albanian candidates in the European elections this year. They represented Belgium, Greece, Italy and Sweden, and it was the latter that brought the only winner.
