Five million euros from drug trafficking, 14 Albanians arrested
 

 The Italian police have completed successfully the operation codenamed "Rubino" coordinated by the L'Aquila District of Anti-Mafia Directory. The investigations were conducted by the Police Headquarters in Chieti, which participated in the operation with more than 200 police officers.

Police forces have executed 44 measures taken by the court, out of which 17 are pre-trial detentions and 27 are measures against suspects in Chieti, Pescara, Teramo, L'Aquila, Varese, Milan and Rome. 14 of the arrested are Albanians.

The operation that has been named after the antimafia dog, "Rubino" is the result of a more than two years investigation. The police managed to report a criminal grouping involved mainly in drug trafficking in the Abruzzo area.

The group has also operated in the areas of Chieti, Pescara, and Teramo. It is believed that the amount of drug dispersed from the network has been very high. During the investigation, 25 people were indicted and later arrested on the indictment of narcotics distribution. The total seized drugs would have yielded over 5 million euros.
