TAP starts laying the pipes in the Albanian coast; 105 km long line

Europol hit the Albanian mafia, over 60 arrested in 5 states

The TAP pipeline started laying pipes in the sea at the Albanian coast. The company that is working on this process is using the ship 'Castoro 10'. Pipeline pipes were welded on the board the ship, which was located 1.4 km from the seashore.

The welds were then tested and the pipeline landed on the seabed. The first 1.8 kilometers of the welded pipeline drifted to the shore at the point of the start near Fier.

The ship 'Castoro 10', with a length of 139 meters and a width of 31 meters, is underway in Albania for the extension of the pipeline to shallow waters and the installation of optical fibers. Also being worked to cover the pipeline in the sea and shore. The works for the TAP Sector in Albania started in October 2018.

The TAP section joining the Albanian coast with the Italian coast is about 105 km long. The pipes will lie on the Adriatic Sea bed: 37 km in the territorial waters of Albania; 25 km in the territorial waters of Italy; and 43 km in international waters. The deeper point of the pipeline will be more than 810 meters below sea level and will be used a total of 100 thousand of tons of pipes.
