Ivanov rejects the laws; He does not agree to sign laws under North Macedonia

VMRO-DPMNE has defended the President George Ivanov's decision to reject the decree of 11 laws approved by the name of the Republic of North Macedonia.

The MP of the largest opposition party in Macedonia, Vlatko Gjorcev said that it is a legally guaranteed right for the president to turn back the laws for re-examination,  the laws he considers there is no legal grounds to be decreed.

As the services of the Assembly of North Macedonia announced, it is about laws in various fields such as economy, agreements on cooperation between states, agreements on security services, the law on electronic communications, or the freedom of access to information of public character.

Ivanov justified the non-enactment with the argument that "during the exercise of this function, he has always acted on an oath that he will defend the Constitution and the interests of the Republic of Macedonia".

The head of state has not even enacted laws approved by two-thirds of the votes related to judicial reforms, which are considered as the key to the country's European integration process.
