Albanian hero Gani Xheka wins Greek citizenship after saved from fire tens of lifes

 An Albanian and two Egyptians who work as fishermen in Nea Makri won the Greek citizenship, who with self-sacrifice saved tens of lives in the village of Mati, Attika, in the Summer of 2018.  

It is about the 35-year-old from Albania Gani Xheka and the two Egyptians Emad El Khaimi and Mahmoud Ibrahim Mussa, respectively 50 and 46-year old.

The three fishermen are invited at the Presidential Palace by Greek President Prokopis Pavlopoulos and then the Interior Minister Alexis Haritsis has issued an order by which they have been granted the Greek citizenship.

"Through your example and giving you the citizenship, we send messages that are so necessary today. Of what you did shows that solidarity and humanity is not a matter of citizenship. You are now Europeans and as such, and from you can learn these partners who do not understand the values ​​of Europe in order to carry out their task. Because the EU foundation is the solidarity,"  the President of Greece Prokopis Pavlopoulos said while granting them the Greek citinzenship.
