Students Protest in Albania; Education Minister Nikolla responds officially to their demands

  Students of Albania are protesting for three days in a raw in Tirana and made their demands public. 

In a handwritten paper the Albanian students have listed their 8 requirements, which start with halving the study fees and the set up a student card that is vital to them.

Also in a record time and the Ministry of Education Lindita Nikolla has responded and said that special work-groups will be raised for their demands.

Regarding the points 1.6 and 7 of the student's demand relating to the assessment of study fees, assessment of the conditions of student residences and the budget for education, and according to your request of 06.12.2018 will be set up special working groups with representatives of Councils of Students, MASRs and public institutions.

Regarding point 2 and 3 of the request we consider it is necessary to evaluate the legal changes that will be part of the discussion of the special working groups to be set up.

Regarding point 4 and 5 of the request, we clarify that the support for the scientific research of students of the third cycle of study including the degree of science has already been legally guaranteed.

Regarding point 8 of your demand, we clarify that the necessary measures are already taken by the MASR and the academic year 2018-2019, you will be equipped with a student card.

The Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports is open and ready to discuss in institutions, according to any format proposed by you all the raised issues.
