2 mln lek  stolen in Durres Police Station coffers

 An unprecedented event occurred at the Durrës Police Commissariat, where reportedly 2 million leks were stolen.

The incident occurred on December 1st at the offices of the Road Traffic Commission. The journalist Dorjana Bezat reports to BalkanWeb that the stolen amount of money was collected from archives and fines while being stored in a safe deposit box. Bezat claims that this safe had no code, but was closed with a key.

The Internal Affairs Service and complaints have started investigating whether police officers are implicated in theft.
