Tirana Court: 11 protesters arrested with imprisonment, 10 submission obligation

 The judge Alma Ahmeti assessed as lawful today the arrests of the 23 protesters arrested by the police for the violence exercised at the crossing point in Kalimash at Nation's Road a few days ago, and released 10 of them by imposing the security measure of  submission obligation, house arrest, while 11 of the protesters will stay in jail.

This morning, in Tirana Court, arrived 23 citizens arrested for violent protest at the Kalimash crossing point on the Durrës-Kukës road.

The persons in question are accused of four criminal offenses, among which opposition to police forces and property destruction, and the Court is expected to review and decide on the Prosecution's request about them.

The prosecution requested the imprisonment of 11 detainees, respectively for Juhani Hereni, Elton Cengu, Florin Onuzi, Xhevahir Gashi, Shkëlqim Vata, Ervis Oruçi, Rasim Onuzi, Vasil Laçi, Abdi Haziraj, Edmond Madmuja, Shpëtim Toda.

While for the rest the Prosecution has requested to be investigated in a free state.

The detainees said in the courtroom that the police had arrested them at 02:00 am and 02:00 in their homes.

Before the Court, out of the 23 detainees, 22 declared they were unemployed, while only one of them stated that he worked as a van driver.
