Rare Illyrian fighting song is included in the book of the French monk Pierre Bauron in 1888

In the French author and monk book, Pierre Bauron, titled "Les Rives Illyriennes - Illyrians Shores", published in Paris in 1888, we find on page 350, a rare Illyrian combat song.

The song notes the bravery of our ancestors, the love for our homeland, and in some ways proves that we have always been a peaceful people with our neighbors, that we have responded as always to attacks, but we never attacked the first. The song was published by Aurenc BEBJA in "© Dars (Klos), Mat - Albania blog", and adapted in Albanian language by Oculus News.

Here's the song:

Brothers, forward, forward, fighters,
The infantry and boys on strong horses!
Let's sharpen the scythes, sharpen the swords!
Let's expel the enemy from these lands!
So each of us to sing a song
To the homeland of heroes!

With the scythe to kill this robber,
Quite arrogant to rule the race of our homes!
Oh! Let them crash by breaking down by hundreds of lightning strikes
These treacherous people who violate our rights!
Everyone ... (Refrain)

If the beast broke its claws,
The Illyrians with the fist spread it to the ground;
If a proud serpent raises his head,
The Illyrian, barefoot, tramples it.
Everyone ... (Refrain)

When the wind of the north, frenzied,
Breaks the old oak,
The heart heals in our chests!
We are Illyrians, dear brothers!
Everyone ... (Refrain)

When the ends of the world shake,
When lightning strikes dance in the sky,
And when the earth opens its belly,
Happy Illyrian sings the song of war.
Everyone ... (Refrain)

The Illyrian attacks the alien with knife,
Only when he has to protect his brother!
Never the fear lowered his head,
And if the world breaks down, it remains cold.
So each of us to sing a song
Homeland of Heroes!
