"It is a privilege to represent the state of Kosovo in a country of extraordinary beauty, but above all in the place of your predecessor and the founder of Senegal state, President Léopold Sédar Senghor. Personally, I brag that I had the opportunity to meet him in Brussels twice in 1988 to talk about Kosovo at that time, which suffered the occupation and terror of the Yugoslav Communist regime of that time." Said Gashi.

In addition to the meeting, Ambassador Gashi also thanked President Sall for the readiness of Senegal to recognize the state of the Republic of Kosovo since the first days after the proclamation of Independence.

"My country, it is eternally grateful that you are aligned among the first countries of the world to recognize the independence of our country. We will never forget it, and it is not by chance that we have chosen Senegal to open our first Embassy on the African continent," Ambassador Gashi said.

Further, Ambassador Gashi informed Senegalese President Sall about the progress of the history of the Republic of Kosovo, while was also discussed about the progress of the recognition process and the strengthening of the international subjectivity of the state of Kosovo, including the membership process in international organizations./Oculus News
