Protest for the release of Haradinaj in Tirana

The arrest of the leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, Ramush Haradinaj on 4 January by French police at the airport of Basel, based on an arrest warrant of Serbia in 2004, has sparked protests in major cities of Kosovo and in some European capitals, even in the United States.

At the protest is requested the unconditional release of former General of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the removal from Interpol lists of Kosovo citizens unjustly accused and wanted from the Serbian state.

A protest for the release of Ramush Haradinaj in Tirana is organized by the Association "Friends of Haradinaj Brothers." Protesters were gathered near the headquarters of the French Embassy in Tirana, initially paid homage at the monument of the KLA Legendary Commander, Adem Jashari.

Then they demanded the release of Mr. Haradinaj and declaring "null" the Serbian warrants for free fighters for the independence of Kosovo. Organizers of the protest in Tirana warned the intensiphication of the protests if Haradinaj will not be released by French Justice institutions.
