Over 260,000 Albanians in Macedonia vote in Referendum in favor of the agreement with Greece

Official Statistics of the State Election Commission in Macedonia suggest that over 260,000 Albanian voters voted in the Referendum of 30 September for the name agreement with Greece, which proves once again that the Albanians aree pro-European, the name agreement opens the country's path to NATO and EU membership.

All Albanian-majority municipalities nearly reached the 50 per cent of the elections to say yes to NATO and the EU.

Despite the large number of Albanian votes, the Referendum failed to pass due to the boycott by Macedonian voters, so that the process would pass to the Macedonian Parliament.

On the other hand, leader of the Democratic Union for Integration, Ali Ahmeti, said that Albanians demonstrated democratic capacities for a candidate for integration in NATO and the EU.

Other Albanian leaders like Thaci, Kasami Gashi and Sela said Albanians showed themselves by voting for NATO and the EU.
