Ten officials and former officials of the Port of Durres have been prosecuted in court on charges of abuse of office and equality of tenders.
Based on investigations relating to the criminal prosecution registered in 2017, it turned out that these officials of Durres Port Authority, while on duty were involved in illegal actions during the tender for the purchase of an auto-ambulance and a firefighter car.
The expertise carried out related to the bids submitted for 3 lots of the tender have documented that the bids were not regular and were drafted by the same economic operator, while in the lottery for the purchase of the auto-ambulance results that there are no additional equipment.The investigation also proved that the demand for these tools was unargumented based on the needs of the institution. It has also been documented that it was not the competence of these Directorates, the determination of the fund for the purchase of vehicles, fact that attributes the responsibility to the head of the institution.
Relating to the tenders, there are documented doubts that the technical specifications did not create conditions for equality and undermined the competition in the public procurement procedure.
