Albanian mafia is struck in Spain, 1 ton of cocaine and 1.5 mln euros caught by Madrid police

A criminal group of drugs trafficked has been hit in Madrid.

5 persons are arrested, including the leader of this criminal group.

Among the 5 arrested, whose names are not disclosed, are 2 Albanians, 2 Spaniards, and the Colombian leader.

According to Spanish media, they transported large quantities of cocaine from Colombia to Spain with charter flights, faking as they were a transport company.

Spanish police agents have sequestered a total of 790 cocaine packs (1 ton), a sum of 1.5 million euros, several cube cars, phones and ID cards, and ammunition.

Investigations against this criminal group have started since November when authorities discovered its existence.

The role of Albanians in this organization seems to focus on transporting large quantities of cocaine coming from Colombia via small aircraft. They used Spain as a gateway to drugs, which their destinations were Europe countries.

The operation of this criminal group was carried out by Spanish police in cooperation with the US DEA and Europol.
