The President of Albania, Ilir Meta, received today in a meeting the Bulgarian Vise President Iliala Iotova, where in a statement from the Presidency of Albania, it is said that both interlocutors shared the same opinion regarding the need for greater attention from both countries for the revitalization of economy and trade cooperation.
"Considering the European integration process a powerful stimulating force for the comprehensive reforms in the country, Meta expressed confidence that during the upcoming EU presidency, Albania could open the accession of negotiations. Also, President Meta stressed the necessity of the visa liberalization as soon as possible between the EU and Kosovo", the notice states.Meanwhile, he stressed that Iotova expressed during the meeting that Albania and the Western Balkans region will have special attention during the Bulgarian EU Presidency, "to once again bring the EU's attention to this region and the enlargement process.".
