Today, the anniversary of the Greek genocide over the Albanian population in Cham territories in Greece

 Today is the anniversary of the Greek genocide against the Cham-Albanian population.

The Assembly of the Republic of Albania in 1994,  voted for June 27 as the day of the Greek genocide against the Chams. 

This date is set after in June 27, 1944 the Greek army led by Napoleon Zerva and Metropolitan Paramithia Dhorotheos entered in Paramithia where they were welcomed peacefully by the Albanian population.

The afternoon of that day the massacred begun where 600 men, women and child were slautered. The genocide lasted until 1945 and were killed around 3,000 Cham Albanians and were forcibly removed from their homes around 30,000, were 2,500 of them died on the route to Albania as a result of wounds, hunger and fatigue.

This day is commemorated annually by the Cham Albanians, the association 'Cham' and PDIU party which has as a reference point the Cham issue to be resolved peacefully.
