The Director of Tirana Regional Tax Directorate, Androkli Kokthi, 40, is arrested today on charges of corruption and abuse of office.
The arrest was made by Anticorruption Team ordered by Prosecutor of Tirana, after several month of investigation.
Prosecution sources suggest that Kokthi arrest was made after the latter issued an illegal order to turn back to a business the seized goods."The Prosecution issued injunction for abuse of power and the violation of laws for taxes."
The Prosecutor said in a statement. According to Police, that has doubts about other similar cases from Kokthi, which are still under investigation.
Kokthi led Regional Tax Directorate from one year.
