Hunters from around Albania Gathered in Tirana today and protested against the hunting moratorium.
Given the critical situation of wild fauna populations in Albania and the loss of diversity of species, with the proposal of the Ministry of Environment and Counsil of Ministers decision dated 14.12.2013 No. 1069 the Albanian Parliament on 30.01.2014. adopted "On announcement of the moratorium on hunting in the Republic of Albania" Law.
The "Declaration of the Moratorium on Hunting in the Republic of Albania", suspends all permits issued for the hunting and the use of hunting areas.But the Albanian hunters disagree with this moratorium. According to them, the moratorium must be imposed for certain seasons and in certain season of the year must be permitted.
As a result of this 2-year moratorium that soon will be approved, over 1 thousant hounters opposed it protesting in front Prime Minister building
Meanwhile the Government stands firmly on its decision.
