Laç-Milot road inaugurated, Peleshi: Territorial reform encourages development policies

Milot road, a project implemented by Albanian Development Fund, was inaugurated on Saturday by Deputy PM Niko Peleshi. During the meeting with local govt. representatives in the town of Laç, deputy PM focused on territorial reform and its impact on local govt. capacities to draft development policies and better managing services on citizens.

According to Peleshi, dhe road that connect Laç with Milot is important, but this isn't enough, a plan for the new municipality is deeded, for the extended municipality.
"I come from local goverment experience. I was the head of Korça municipality and I know what does it mean when municipality administrative boundaries are extended, this leads in a more powerfull budget, and the capabilities to project and finance increase," Deputy PM Niko Peleshi said.

The problem of water and the management of water-supply is one of the most critic services that loca govt. can offer.

"We will not have any more Commune boards that does not see water-supply as a substantial enterprise to me managed, but they see on who will be the director and wich persons will employ. By creating big Municipalities, also, small water-suply enterprises will be grouped, this will decrease administrative cost, will improve the performance and I believe that reform will touch everyone in a positive manner," Peleshi stressed.
