Eli Fara Responds to Circulation of Private Videos: “I Am Hurt, But I Have No Reason to Be Ashamed”

TIRANA, Albania — Albanian singer Eli Fara has publicly addressed the circulation on social media of private videos involving her and composer Adrian Hila, saying that the incident has caused her significant emotional distress and affected her family.

In a statement published on Instagram on Saturday, Fara said that her privacy had been violated and called on the public to stop sharing the material.

“I am hurt, but I have no reason to be ashamed,” Fara said, adding that responsibility and shame should lie with those who record, publish or distribute private moments without a person's knowledge and consent.

Eli Fara: “My privacy has been violated”

Fara said that after a lifetime spent performing publicly and sharing her music with audiences, she is now facing a deeply personal situation that has turned her private life into a subject of public discussion.

She said the incident has also affected her family and criticized what she described as the tendency to judge women when their privacy is violated.

“No woman should have to go through this humiliation,” Fara wrote in her statement.

She emphasized that being a public figure does not remove her right to privacy and dignity.

“Being an artist does not take away my right to privacy and dignity,” she said, stressing that the same right belongs to every woman regardless of her profession, public profile or personal choices.

“I will leave this matter in the hands of justice”

Fara said she intends to pursue the matter through the appropriate legal channels.

“I will leave this matter in the hands of justice,” she wrote, without providing further details about any legal proceedings.

She also appealed directly to people who may have received or encountered the private material online, asking them not to continue distributing it.

“From the public I ask for humanity and an end to the sharing,” Fara said.

The singer urged people to consider the consequences for the individuals and families involved before judging or contributing to the further circulation of private material.

A call to stop further distribution

The case has generated discussion across Albanian social media in recent days following the circulation of the videos.

Fara's statement does not focus on the content of the videos themselves, but on what she describes as the unauthorized exposure and distribution of private moments.

Her appeal comes as Albanian authorities and institutions have repeatedly warned about the legal and personal consequences associated with the unauthorized distribution of intimate or private material online.

Rather than responding to the online attention with further details about her private life, Fara said she would take the time she needs and continue forward with dignity.

She concluded her statement by thanking her family, friends, colleagues and supporters for standing by her publicly and privately.

“I will take the time I need and continue forward, with dignity and my head held high,” she wrote.
