127th Anti-Government Protest in Tirana: Demonstrators March Toward Prime Minister’s Office, Demand Rama’s Resignation

TIRANA, Albania — Albania's ongoing anti-government protests reached their 127th consecutive day on Sunday, October 4, 2026, as citizens and activists gathered in central Tirana and marched toward the Prime Minister's Office.

Protesters first assembled in Skënderbej Square before moving along the main boulevard toward the government headquarters, where participants repeated calls for the resignation of Prime Minister Edi Rama.

The demonstrations have continued for more than four months, with organizers saying that the protest movement will continue in the coming days. Multiple Albanian media outlets reported the 127th gathering and the march toward the Prime Minister's Office.

Protesters demand Rama’s resignation

The main slogan heard during Sunday's demonstration was “Rama, resign”, reflecting the organizers' central political demand.

The protest is part of a series of daily demonstrations that have taken place in Tirana for more than four months. According to reports from the demonstrations, protesters continue to call for political changes and say they intend to maintain their presence in the streets until their demands are addressed.

The protesters' broader demands have also included calls for the creation of a transitional technical government, changes to the political system and the repeal of legislation they oppose. These are demands of the protest movement and do not represent established government policy or an independently verified assessment of the political situation.

Demonstrators march toward the Prime Minister’s Office

After gathering at Skënderbej Square, demonstrators proceeded toward the Prime Minister's Office on Dëshmorët e Kombit Boulevard.

At the government building, participants delivered speeches and continued chanting against the government and Prime Minister Rama.

Other slogans were also reported during the demonstration, including calls directed at senior political figures. Some of these statements were allegations or demands made by individual protesters and should not be treated as established facts.

One activist, Edison Lika, used his speech to call for further action against government officials and referred to ongoing proceedings involving Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku. His statements represented his own political claims and demands during the protest.

Protests expected to continue

Organizers have indicated that the demonstrations will continue in the coming days.

The 127th protest follows the 126th consecutive gathering and marks another day of sustained street demonstrations in the Albanian capital.

The continuation of the protests means that political tensions surrounding the government and the opposition movement are likely to remain visible on the streets of Tirana in the coming days.

For now, organizers say the demonstrations will continue until their political demands are addressed.

Oculus News will continue to follow developments from the ongoing protests in Tirana.
