Hoti’s body has now been returned to Albania, with his funeral scheduled for Sunday in the village of Gurrëz, Kurbin, where family members and relatives will say their final farewell.

According to Italian media reports, Hoti was killed by a single gunshot to the head. Investigators believe the murder took place in the province of Venice, where he lived, rather than in San Giorgio delle Pertiche, where the vehicle was eventually discovered.

Investigators suspect the perpetrators transported the body after the killing in an attempt to conceal evidence.

The way the vehicle was abandoned has raised suspicions that several people may have been involved and that the area could have been examined in advance. The vehicle was left on a secondary road in a location that would be difficult to find without knowledge of the local area.

Investigators are continuing to work to establish the motive for the killing.

One line of inquiry concerns a possible dispute over drug-related dealings. Authorities are also examining a potential connection to a shooting that occurred during the night of June 30-July 1 in Zianigo di Mirano, where another Albanian man was shot in the shoulder near his home.

Investigators are checking whether Hoti had any connection to people involved in that incident. However, Italian authorities have so far found no concrete evidence establishing a link between the two cases.
