Kosovo Police Seize Large Weapons Arsenal in 48 Locations Around Zubin-Potok

 Kosovo Police have conducted operations at 48 locations around Zubin-Potok, seizing a significant quantity of weapons, ammunition, explosives and military equipment.

Kosovo Police Director General Gazmend Hoxha said at a press conference that the operations followed the verification of information received by authorities.

Large Arsenal Seized

According to Hoxha, the seized items include:

  • 72 firearms, including 2 machine guns and 11 AK-47 rifles
  • 22 other long firearms and 27 hunting rifles
  • 90 handguns
  • 7 explosive devices and 7 hand grenades
  • 2 detonators and explosive-device components
  • 4,831 rounds of ammunition of different calibers
  • Weapon parts, barrels and magazines
  • Military equipment, uniforms and ammunition boxes
  • Knives, gas masks, radios and binoculars
  • Pyrotechnic materials and other military-related equipment

Police also seized various documents, including former Yugoslav weapons permits, veterans' cards, weapons documentation, forestry guard documents and expired permits for handguns.

The scale of the seizure has drawn attention to the continued presence of significant weapons stockpiles in northern Kosovo, while authorities are expected to investigate the origin, ownership and intended use of the seized arsenal.
