Kosovo Judoka Shpati Zekaj Wins Bronze Medal at World Cup in Sarajevo

 Kosovo has secured another international success in judo, with Shpati Zekaj winning the bronze medal at the World Cup in Sarajevo.

 Kosovo’s Shpati Zekaj (-100 kg) in action on the tatami on his way to securing a bronze medal at the World Cup in Sarajevo.

Zekaj competed in the men’s -100 kg category, delivering a series of strong performances against international opponents and ultimately earning a place on the podium.

Shpati Zekaj Defeats German Opponent for Bronze

In the bronze-medal contest, the Kosovo judoka faced Germany’s Pierre Ederer and produced a decisive performance, defeating his opponent by Ippon to secure the bronze medal.

Earlier in the competition, Zekaj also recorded a victory over Denis Bakanov.

His path to the podium was not straightforward. After suffering a quarterfinal defeat to Bulgaria’s Boris Georgiev, Zekaj bounced back strongly in the repechage, where he defeated Serbia’s Aleksandar Stojkov to keep his medal hopes alive.

Another International Judo Medal for Kosovo

The bronze medal in Sarajevo adds another international achievement to Kosovo’s growing judo record.

Zekaj’s performance also highlights the continued strength of Kosovo and Albanian judo, a discipline that has produced numerous major international results and established itself as one of the country’s strongest sports on the global stage.
