Kosovo’s national boxing team delivered an outstanding performance at the prestigious "Mustafa Hajrulahović – Talijan" International Boxing Tournament, held from July 28 to August 1, 2026, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
- Kosovar boxers finished the tournament with a total of six medals:Gold: Taulant Jakupi (85 kg)
- Silver: Riad Isufi (55 kg)
- Bronze: Bashkim Bajoku (55 kg), Erdi Aliu (65 kg), Ensar Badallaj (70 kg), and Flori Tarani (75 kg)
Two Kosovar boxers competed in the tournament finals.
Taulant Jakupi produced a dominant performance to defeat Albanian boxer Useid Nika by a unanimous 5–0 decision in the 85 kg final. Jakupi controlled all three rounds, repeatedly putting his opponent under pressure while displaying outstanding technique, tactical discipline and fighting spirit to secure the gold medal.
In the 55 kg final, Riad Isufi faced Italy’s Tommaso Orlando and was defeated after a high-quality contest. Despite the loss, Isufi demonstrated excellent boxing skills, technical quality and sportsmanship, confirming his status as one of Kosovo’s most promising young talents. Greater international experience is expected to further enhance his development.
National team coach Shefki Bogujevci praised the performances of his boxers, highlighting their commitment, discipline and the high level they displayed throughout the tournament.
Kosovo was also represented among the officials, with international referee Latif Demolli successfully serving as one of the tournament’s judges.
The result marks another important milestone for Kosovo boxing on the international stage and provides strong motivation ahead of future competitions.
