A serious incident unfolded in Mullet, Tirana, where a 53-year-old man was arrested after allegedly firing a pistol into the air outside a café where a 23-year-old man was drinking coffee with friends.

According to information from the investigation, Çeliku allegedly went to the café after the previous confrontation and fired the weapon outside the premises, apparently in an attempt to threaten the younger man.
Security Cameras Capture Gunfire Outside Café
Security camera footage reportedly captured the incident, showing the 53-year-old near the café as he fired the pistol into the air.
The 23-year-old was inside the café with friends at the time of the incident.
Police said the shooting was apparently connected to a previous dispute between the two men, which authorities have described as being over “weak motives.”
Although the weapon was fired into the air rather than directly at the young man, investigators are treating the incident as a serious threat because the firearm was allegedly possessed without a permit.
Police Launch “Njoftimi” Operation
Following a report that a man had fired a gun near a café in Mullet, officers from Police Commissariat No. 1 immediately went to the scene.
Police launched an operation codenamed “Njoftimi” to establish what had happened and identify the person responsible.
The rapid intervention resulted in Çeliku being caught in flagrante and placed under arrest, according to authorities.
Police also seized the firearm allegedly used during the incident, together with its ammunition.
Dispute Escalates Into Armed Threat
Investigators believe Çeliku and A.H. had previously been involved in a confrontation.
According to the police account, the 53-year-old subsequently went to the location where A.H. was present and allegedly fired the pistol into the air with the intention of intimidating or threatening him.
The incident could have escalated further, particularly because other people were present at the café when the gun was fired.
Police said their intervention prevented the confrontation from developing into a more serious incident.
Criminal Proceedings Underway
The procedural materials have been forwarded to the Prosecutor's Office, which will determine the further legal course of the case.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the earlier dispute, the circumstances in which Çeliku allegedly obtained and possessed the firearm, and the precise nature of the threat made against the 23-year-old.
The case also highlights the potential danger of disputes escalating into armed confrontations in public places, particularly when firearms are possessed without authorization.
