27 Wildfires Reported Across North Macedonia, 11 Still Active

 A total of 27 wildfires in open areas have been reported across North Macedonia by 6:00 p.m., according to the country’s Crisis Management Center. Of these, 11 remain active, three are under control, and 13 have been extinguished.

The highest number of active fires has been recorded in the Skopje region, although fires have also been reported in several other municipalities across the country.

In the Municipality of Studeničani, active fires have been reported near the villages of Morani and Vërtekicë, as well as in Gabër, where mixed forest is burning. Active fires have also been reported in Zelenikovë, Saraj, Makedonski Brod, Jegunovcë, Tetovë, Gostivar, Haraçinë, and Staro Nagoričane.

The situation is particularly serious in the village of Çanishte near Prilep, where the fire is spreading in two directions—one toward the village of Zoviq and the other toward Krushevicë.

Another active forest fire has been reported in the village of Suv Orah, in the Municipality of Staro Nagoričane, where a house has also been affected by the flames.

Meanwhile, fires in Delçevë, Debreshte, and Musincë have been brought under control, while 13 fires have been completely extinguished.

The situation remains closely monitored as firefighters and emergency services continue efforts to contain the active fires.
